Cwricwlwm newydd i Gymru
Mae hi’n amser cyffrous o fewn y byd addysg. Fel pob ysgol, mae Ysgol Rhyd y Grug medru cynllunio Cwricwlwm eu hunain. Hynny yw, beth ddylai’r plant dysgu, sut ddylen nhw ddysgu a’r rhesymau pam ddylen nhw ddysgu. O fis Medi 2022, fe fydd plant a phobl ifanc yn dysgu trwy’r Cwricwlwm Newydd.
Sail ag ysgogiad Y Cwricwlwm Newydd i Gymru oedd adroddiad Athro Donaldson, ‘Dyfodol Llwyddiannus’. Dogfen sydd yn gofyn am Gwricwlwm gyda’r un weledigaeth i blant a phobl ifanc Cymru. Gweledigaeth sydd a’r un man cychwyn a’r dyhead ar gyfer pob plentyn a pherson ifanc yng Nghymru i wireddu’r Pedwar Diben.
Y Pedwar Diben:-
- ddysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog sy’n barod i ddysgu drwy gydol eu hoes
- cyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol sy’n barod i chwarae eu rhan yn llawn yn eu bywyd a’u gwaith
- dinasyddion egwyddorol, gwybodus Cymru a’r byd
- unigolion iach, hyderus sy’n barod i fyw bywyd gan wireddu eu dyheadau fel aelodau gwerthfawr o gymdeithas.
Man cychwyn pob dim ydy’r Pedwar Diben gyda phob disgybl yn ganolbwynt i’r Cwricwlwm. Ochr yn ochr a’r Cwricwlwm fe fydd 'Fframwaith Llythrennedd a Rhifedd', y 'Fframwaith Cymhwysedd Digidol' a 'Fframwaith y Cyfnod Sylfaen' dal yn cael eu gweithredu.
Mae’r fframweithiau yn gwau i mewn ac yn rhedeg ar draws Meysydd Dysgu a Phrofiad. Mae 6 Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad:-
- Celfyddydau Mynegiannol
- Iechyd a Llesiant
- Dyniaethau
- Ieithoedd a Llythrennedd
- Mathemateg a Rhifedd
- Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg
O fewn pob un Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad mae datganiadau o’r ‘Hyn sy’n Bwysig’. Mae rhain yn gosod ffocws ar gyfer continwwm dysgu pob dysgwr. Yn rhan o’r ‘Hyn Sy’n Bwysig’ mae disgrifiadau dysgu. Mae pob disgrifiad dysgu wedi’i gynllunio i gefnogi dyfnder a soffistigeidrwydd cynyddol yn dysgu dros gyfnod o amser.
Gall cyflymder cynnydd plentyn amrywio ar hyd ei yrfa dysgu ond mae’r Cwricwlwm Newydd wedi ei trefnu yn fras i gamau cynnydd- Camau 1,2,3,4 a 5. Disgwylir plentyn i gyflawni Cam 1 yn 5 mlwydd oed, Cam 2 erbyn 8 mlwydd oedd a cham 3 erbyn 11.
Curriculum for Wales
It's an exciting time within education. Like all schools, Ysgol Rhyd y Grug is able to design its own Curriculum. That is, what the children should learn, how they should learn and the reasons why they should learn. From September 2022, children and young people will learn through the New Curriculum.
The creation of The New Curriculum for Wales began with Professor Donaldson's report, 'Successful Futures'. A document that asks for a Curriculum with a shared vision for the children and young people of Wales. A vision that has the same starting point and aspirations for all children and young people in Wales to achieve the Four Purposes.
The Four Purposes: -
- ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
- enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
- ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
- healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
The Four Purposes are the starting point of everything to do with children’s education. Every pupil is at the center of the Curriculum. Overarching the Curriculum in a cross-curricular way will be the 'Literacy and Numeracy Framework, the ‘Digital Competency Framework’ and 'The Foundation Phase Framework'.
The frameworks need to be embedded and run alongside all ‘Areas of Learning and Experience’.
There are 6 Areas of Learning and Experience: -
- Expressive Arts
- Health and Well-being
- Humanities
- Languages and Literacy
- Mathematics and Numeracy
- Science and Technology
Within each Area of Learning and Experience there are statements of 'What Matters'. These provide a focus for the continuum of learning for all learners. Each 'What Matters' includes learning descriptions. Each learning description is designed to support the increasing depth and sophistication of learning over time.
The pace of a child's progress may vary throughout his or her learning journey but the New Curriculum is broadly organized into stages of progress- Steps 1,2,3,4 and 5. A child is expected to complete Stage 1 at age 5, Stage 2 by 8 years old and stage 3 by 11.
